Schmiere Pomade review
I have been using Rumble59 products for a while and I must admit the first thing that attracted me towards them was the super cool design of the tin. I am a hardcore fan of everything retro, classic and Rock’n’Roll, so the cartoon bird on the lid convinced me to buy my first Schmiere pomade. It was the Schmiere Soft Hair pomade, which has a light hold and I chose it because I didn’t have much experience with applying pomade and my hair wasn’t so long back then.
The second product in their line of pomades is the Schmiere Pomade Mittel, which has a medium hold, so here is my Schmiere Pomade review.
Packaging
As I already mentioned, I am very excited about the packaging of this product. It is contained in a large round metal tin (5 Oz. of pomade). It features a cartoon bird with a fierce look in its eyes, a sleek hairstyle and a cigarette in the corner of its mouth. It is the classic image of a bad-boy character you find in old-school movies.
The fun thing about this line of products is that the bird changes its appearance and props for every pomade, depending on the hold and final effect. For example, the Soft Hair pomade bird was much more innocent and joyful looking than this one.
Texture, smell, and color
The color of this pomade is light-blue and it is opaque and creamy. You can tell that it’s a greasy pomade by its shine in the box, plus the content of wax is given away by the buttery texture. It’s still not a clay, you can tell it will be easy to apply.
The smell is quite strong and can be felt as soon as you open the lid. It is a very sweet smell that makes you think about bubble gum. My friend says it smells like almonds, but I am not sure about that. Anyway, it is a sweet, sugary smell. I hope you like this kind of fragrance because this pomade is worth it.
Application and styling
My Schmiere Pomade review would not be complete if I only talk about how excited I am about the packaging. Let’s see how this bad boy does its actual job.
The application is very easy, suitable even for the beginner pomade user. You might think that applying this to super dry hair is going to be an annoying task, but it goes in easily, covers the hairs evenly and the combing is like a breeze. The hold is medium, just as expected.
I truly recommend this brand of pomade. Have fun using it and finding your favorite one!
